I was lucky enough to witness the mid 70s Ted scene, I was about 13 when I got the rock n roll bug, so 1975 and then the whole spectrum of music that sprang out of it. It might take a while for me to answer all the questions, I got many memories and many to remember. What memories you do have bout all this happenings and how those things changed youth way of thinking and their way of life? The first thing I was into as kid was Rock n Roll. When I first started to like music, there were a lot of Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran 10th anniversary records, to commemorate their lives. There was also films such as That’ll Be the Day which was about the Teddy Boy lifestyle, so it was natural that I would want to be a Ted. The first bands I saw were Crazy Cavan and the Rhythm Rockers, and Flying Saucers. Too many other bands to name, but there was some great gigs at The Lyceum in London in...

 I have to say that Mick Lewis sent these stories already January 2022 but I forgot them a totally. Im so sorry. But better later than never🙈 Punkaharju 1979. Behind the scene account of Motörhead emptying the festival site within minutes of starting their set,trashing the stage whilst Nigel and myself were sat cross legged at side of stage sharing a bottle of gin given to us by Lemmy. Then the arrests at the airport. Norway,lilliehammer. 1979? Whirlwind arrested and Gary(drummer)locked up. We were caught doing over 100mph overtaking traffic in a 50 mph zone. Warrant issued in Sweden for Whirlwinds arrest,while we high tailed it to the Norwegian border 1979. Whirlwind trashed the stage in North Finland,audience was horrified 1979.

  I grew up in the countryside on the outskirts of a small city of 25 thousand. There were lots of woods and most kids spent a lot of time there. When I was 10 or 11 or somewhere in that age,  some of the older kids told us a story that is ridiculous now but at the age it scared the crap out of us. The story goes that a guy escaped from the mental hospital and stole a car. The police were chasing him and the car ran out of gas…near the woods by my house. The guy then ran into the woods. The guy was bleeding so they brought in some dogs to track him because it was dark. The dogs followed the trail but then the trail just ended. They came back at daylight to continue to search but they never did find him…..and they think he might still be out there somewhere…. :-)  Of course were were scared to go in the woods alone or at night after that.  PÄÄSIÄISEN PYHÄKOLMINAISUUS Ajattelin leirinuotioilla osioon tällä kertaa lisätä kolme värisyttävintä Pääsiäis musiikki kokemusta. Huhtikuu 1981 Humppilan Seurojentalo. Synnyinkodistani vain alle 20km matkan päässä sijainnut Humppilan Seurojentalo oli vanhanajan perinteinen tanssipaikka keskeisellä paikalla kylän keskustassa. 80-luvulla siellä kävivät monet merkittävät rockabilly bändit ja pienemmätkin nimet muiden ohella. Moondogs lehti järjesti siellä ainakin yhdet isot bileet. Myös Dave Phillips And The Hot Rod Gang piti esiintyä siellä Suomi debyytillään, mutta kaikenlaisista ongelmista johtuen se siirtyi Punkalaitumen Särkkä tanssilavalle. Blue Cats saapui Suomeen ensi kertaa juurikin keväällä 1981 tehden mittavan kidrtueen. En muista miten pääsin Seurojentalolle. Taisi edesmennyt veljeni heittää ja pois tulin tuttujen kanssa samalla taksilla. Tuosta taksi kyydistä mudostuikin varsin nolo, siitä lisää lopussa. Blue Cats oli iskenyt tajuntaan upealla "Just Go Wild Over RocknR...

 SGT. BILKO'S KRAZY COMBO Here's a bit of a timeline, leading up to Bilko's playing at the Klub Foot.  The bands constant line-up changes and eventual mothballing, led to the correct alignment of musicians, to play the Klubfoot.  In 1986 the band was over. I was feeling depressed and lost.  On my shelf was a tape that we recorded in 1983 ,  featuring Mark Bending 13 years old! ( lead guitar), Berni Bilko (double Bass and Rhythm Guitar) and Roy Mason? (session Drummer).  It rarely got played, just gathered dust, on the shelf.  The tape contained home studio demos of Married to the bottle, Point of no return and Public Enemy number one.  They were self penned, neo rockabilly in style.  Out of sheer frustration, I sent the tape to ABC Records, not expecting a reply.  OK, let's go back a few years....  Berni ( Bass) was busking with Tim  Lumb  (Guitar) in and around Northampton, in 1982....gradually others would come and go....

The best one of the best memories I have from the klub foot was when we were leaving, I can't remember the date,we were in our van and about 200 girls started chasing it and screaming, we thought our luck was in until we discovered they thought were "curiosity killed the cat" who had just played around the corner at Hammersmith oden , and were in the limousine in front of the van STEVE KLUNKY CLARKE                        THE RAPIDS Back in the 1980's (after the Rapids had split up) I worked as a freelance graphic designer. One of the places I worked at quite regularly was a children's book publisher. The studio was managed by a talented designer, she was a couple of years younger than me. We were getting prepared for her annual two weeks leave. She never said what her plans were for her time off, and nobody really mentioned it or asked her. On her return everybody was more interested.   Keikkakokemus: 1981 Pääsiäisen ensi kosketus Blue Cats bändiin huhtikuussa 1981 Humppilan Seurojentalolla. Ikimuistoinen keikka 14-vuotiaalle teinille koko salin kokoisine tanssirinkeineen ja timanttisen Blue Cats keikan vuoksi. Siitä lähtien he ovatkin olleet minulle se NUMERO UNO. Kesäkuu ja Kari Heimosen Rockabilly Festivaali Säkylän Eenokilla. Jos Blue Cats sain nuoren maalaispojan hämilleen, niin Säkylässä vasta sai olla suu auki nähdessään maailman tähtiä kuten Johnny Legend, Blue Cats, Jackie Lee Cochran, Gene Summers jne ja tietysti oma all star bändimme Lonestars. 1991 Ronnie Dawson & The Go-Getters Kumilan Motelli, Pöytyä sekä Helsinki olikohan Natsa? Kiitos Ijaksen Masun sain olla mukana tällä pääsiäisen mini turneella. Hoidin tuota Kumilan päätä vähän niin kuin Masun apuna ja olin mukana myös Hesassa. Ronnie Dawson oli huikea Fifties stara ja melkoinen herrasmies. Hienot muistot.
